 Hi! How are you?

I’m feeling blessed

Leonard Magazine Journalist

Tell us about your background, what has gotten you to where you are today?

I was rapping for 11 yrs and counting. Since high school, I was rapping and it was the thing that made me a popular kid in high school. The thing I would say that got me here today is that I never gave up. Between 2015-2016 I was close to giving up on my music and I felt alone, I had a few friends and I was in a deep and dark emotional hole. But my passion spoke louder than demons and I’m thankful to God that I’m here today.

Leonard Magazine Journalist

Where are you from?

I’m from Long Island, New York. Valley Stream (the 516).

Leonard Magazine Journalist

When did you start music?

I started rapping around 2011, so around 10 yrs.

Leonard Magazine Journalist

How did you get into music?

I was actually into music from my elementary school music teacher. She put me on to John Mayer, Beethoven, Ray Charles etc. and years later down the line rap was my main interest. And I was heavily influenced by artists like Drake, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Future, Meek Mill and Kanye West. My elementary school music teacher, she was like a second mom to me. She taught me everything from notes, rhythm and how to record. She let my creativity run wild. Sometimes during recess I would stay inside and we would just talk and I would do special projects, or help her clean up the music room. To this day she is my inspiration.

Leonard Magazine Journalist

Who inspires you the most musically?

No doubt Eminem, J. Cole, Drake, and Jay-Z just to name a few. And especially my closest friends inspire me musically and lyrically. And for this album I went to Drake’s earlier albums such as So Far Gone, Thank Me Later and Take Care. But also my inspirations vary from Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Ty Dolla Sign and Ed Sheeran.

Leonard Magazine Journalist

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

The thing I want people to take away is that no matter who you are, what stage in life that you’re at, what you’re going through and where you’re from, you can do anything you put your mind to. And that as long as you’re ambitious and have heart there’s nothing that can stop you. And you’re always stronger than your past. And never be discouraged and give up. You have so much going for yourself. Do whatever makes you happy. It doesn’t have to be in entertainment, you can design clothes, cook, be a doctor, be a personal trainer, literally anything that makes you happy just do it. If it costs your peace and happiness, then the price tag is irrelevant.

Leonard Magazine Journalist

Any new music coming out soon?

YES. I am currently taking small steps towards the second album “Self Progression” but for right now I have more shows, features, and more content to do and I am beyond blessed and excited for the future. And my boy Of Ethare has a new video out for his hit song “Spider in the passcode” so make sure you guys check that out. But 2022 I have a lot more surprises up my sleeve. And I can’t wait for it all.

King B

How long has music been a part of your life?

Answer: I was born musically talented. Music came to me young as a child, I started off early singing gospel songs and praise dancing with my family for my granny’s church, singing, dancing, then started writing my own lyrics at a early age as well before 10 years old.

If it wasn’t for music, where would you be now?

Answer: If it wasn’t for music, I would still found my way I believe to use my voice somehow. I was born with multiple talents and a gift for creation as a whole. I am now a film writer, actor, author, marketing, company branding, creating websites, fashion/architecture ideas, the list continues…

How did you come to realize that music was the way forward for you?

Answer: I was always known in my family for my talent, before I was entertaining for the public, I was entertaining for my family. I always knew I wanted music, it’s really hard to explain.

If you had to sacrifice one skill, which would you least like to let go, and why?

Answer: If I had to sacrifice creation as a whole I wouldn’t want to live. I wouldn’t be able to cope with anything in life. I would feel stuck.

In what way do you aim to make a difference?

Answer: I aim to make a difference in not only music & how music is heard, but a difference in humanity. I want to show people that’s it’s okay to be exactly who you are & you can overcome

your pain. Never be afraid to give your lights to others, which in God’s eyes that means more than any materialistic thing you can gain. I’m all about making a difference in our community as well, showing kids it’s okay to not be violent, use your gift that we all have inside.

If you could partner with any other record label who would it be and why?

Answer: I don’t have any favorite record label I would wanna work or partner with.

What does Worldwide Hustle look for when searching for talent?

Answer: Worldwide Hustle looks for talent. That is all we are looking for, real talent, we are artist development as well.

Where is your career heading? What’s the vision for Worldwide Hustle?

Answer: My career is headed towards a international break through, along with every artist we are behind. Worldwide Hustle will continue to create stars with star power.

Published

Gucci Gordy

Q. Who is Gucci Gordy? Gucci Gordy is the mmelinum version of Barry Gordy of Motwn.

Q. How’d you get into the music industry to begin with? I started in St Louis, and it started out as a hobby.

Q. Why would an artist get dropped from a major label? Does it all just come down to the bottom line? An artist would get dropped by not meeting expectations versus the risk of the investment. It does because labels lose a lot of money because they spend money frivolously and if an artist don’t recoup their money, they get dropped. Major Labels spend money differently and artist are left to recoup. Any artist would have to have an upward trajectory.

Q. I constantly hear incredibly impressive singing talents in places like the rice houses in St. Louis or even street corners in Detroit … why don’t some people get discovered while other less talented people do? Because they work harder. If it’s meant to happen, it will happen.

Q. Which is more important for musician’s success: talent or marketability? Both

Q. How important is seeing a band play live in deciding whether to sign them? Important because you get to see the full package from their stage presence, crowd interaction, and crowd likability.

Q. How do A&R’s search for new talent these days? Word of mouth and research on all social media platforms.

Q. How do you stay organized in such a vast industry? Repeating the same protocol, creating a curriculum and staying consistent by creating a regime and sticking to the process.

Q. What was the most recent signing that you were a part of? I signed Leeky G Bando, artist based out of New York, Chris Echols, and Destineeee Lynn.

Q. Where can the world follow you? @guccigordy

Q. What’s next for you in the music world? As an executive, my next move is scaling the business up by diversifying my portfolio by signing labels and international artist.
