Get to know ‘Antonio Zarco ‘ An Aspiring Vocalist from Monroe Township, NJ

Antonio Zarco

What is your name and what city do you rep?

My name is Antonio Zarco. I’m an aspiring vocalist and I’m from Monroe Township, NJ.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

Well, there’s a lot of music I am currently working on.. It is original music I am writing and also collabing with other musical artists on some big projects for the future. What inspired me to be able to write my original music that is in the works right now is from a lot of challenges from me growing up. Some difficult times in my life that I couldn’t express myself through words but that can only be expressed through the power of song.

What is unique about you and your music?

I can say that the part about my original music being unique is that it tells a story from only my standpoint, that only I can relate it to difficult times in my life and the struggles I went through to get to where I am today. I also think what’s also unique about my music is that it can relate and bring people closer together knowing that they’re not alone. That my music can hopefully one day also relate to other people based on some similarities that happened in their lives, compared to mine. What makes me unique as an artist, singer, performer is that I live through the power of music. Meaning that I connect through people when I’m singing and performing on stage. I bring the life out of people using the power of song.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

Well at the time I didn’t think I was going to make it professionally until I started to sing when I was very young. When I fell in love with music. My mom always told me I used to sing before I learned how to talk. When I started putting myself out there, doing choir all the way from elementary school through college (present day). I knew music was my life and I wanted to do it for the rest of my life because in all honesty without music I don’t think I would be where I am today. It was when I also started taking music seriously and having a lot of fun with it. Being my artistic self when it came to that lit the room for so many people it made them smile and I loved that and made me want to pursue this for the rest of my life.

What type of music do you listen to?

I grew up listening to a whole variety of genres. I started listening to classical music then transitioning over to Musical Theater, Pop, Pop-Country, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, Blues, Gospel and so much more.

What inspires you to write music?

What inspires me to write music is the struggles that I went through as a person whether it was a breakup or something very personal. It brings a lot of emotions and those flow to what I write today and that will be coming out soon.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

On some days that I don’t do music, I take the time to go on walks and to appreciate life around me and that we’re very fortunate to have a lot of things in this world that give us hope and strength. Other days I like to spend time with family and friends and to appreciate the people who support me the most. To cherish those special moments and to keep them in your hearts.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help other artists just starting out?

All I can say is, if you love music and you think this is the perfect field of where you want to be and you want to do this for the rest of your life, do it. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Do what you love to do. Don’t let anyone talk down on you for loving and creating music. Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do it because you won’t be successful. The best energy is proving those people wrong and showing them that you can. That’s all that matters. Proving all the haters wrong is the best thing you will ever feel and you won’t even need them anymore. Do what you’re most proud of and keep fighting and never give up on that dream.
