Hi! How are you?

Hey I’m pretty good thanks for asking!

Tell us about your background, what has gotten you to where you are today?

Well long story short I’ve been doing music and art in some capacity for as long as I can remember. I started singing as an elementary schooler and started playing guitar back then too. By high school I was the lead singer and guitarist for a few different bands, and by the time I graduated I had experience in hip hop production too.
After that I spent time learned to do edm production before ultimately starting Ded stark to combine all my skills into one solo brand.

Where are you from?
I’m from America , the west coast of California to be specific. I grew up in small community south of San Fransisco.Journalist
When did you start music?

As mentioned above, I started music at a very young age. Both of my parents were very musical, so I definitely started singing by the time I was in kindergarten. And by 3d grade I had started playing guitar for real.

How did you get into music?

As mentioned above again, my parents were both very into music and had me fully immersed in it by the time I was a toddler. Hearing my dad sing to his favorite rock records as a kid inspired me and he only encouraged my musical inspiration.

Who inspires you the most musically?

That one is too hard to answer, like acrually too hard. I fee like no one should have a simple answer to this. For me I can list a few though. From Pink Floyd to soundgarden all the way to lil peep, my Influences are eclectic and span many generations and genres. I’m mainly i soured by the emotional aspect of music but the creative aspect is equally as intriguing.

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

I just want ppl to feel the meaning or emotion packed in each track. I know my music isn’t for everyone but I hope it does the trick for ppl needing an honest and genuine artistic release. It’s meant to be therapeutic.

Any new music coming out soon?

Yes I just dropped an album last week and I need to figure out how to really promote it before wel reading an EP to end the year… at which point I’ll finally start planning these collabs I’m sitting on, which will by my 1st collab releases ever as Ded stark.

Thank you for giving us your time.

Gucci Gordy turns his music hobby into a lifestyle

Gucci Gordy

Q. Who is Gucci Gordy? Gucci Gordy is the mmelinum version of Barry Gordy of Motwn.

Q. How’d you get into the music industry to begin with? I started in St Louis, and it started out as a hobby.

Q. Why would an artist get dropped from a major label? Does it all just come down to the bottom line? An artist would get dropped by not meeting expectations versus the risk of the investment. It does because labels lose a lot of money because they spend money frivolously and if an artist don’t recoup their money, they get dropped. Major Labels spend money differently and artist are left to recoup. Any artist would have to have an upward trajectory.

Q. I constantly hear incredibly impressive singing talents in places like the rice houses in St. Louis or even street corners in Detroit … why don’t some people get discovered while other less talented people do? Because they work harder. If it’s meant to happen, it will happen.

Q. Which is more important for musician’s success: talent or marketability? Both

Q. How important is seeing a band play live in deciding whether to sign them? Important because you get to see the full package from their stage presence, crowd interaction, and crowd likability.

Q. How do A&R’s search for new talent these days? Word of mouth and research on all social media platforms.

Q. How do you stay organized in such a vast industry? Repeating the same protocol, creating a curriculum and staying consistent by creating a regime and sticking to the process.

Q. What was the most recent signing that you were a part of? I signed Leeky G Bando, artist based out of New York, Chris Echols, and Destineeee Lynn.

Q. Where can the world follow you? @guccigordy

Q. What’s next for you in the music world? As an executive, my next move is scaling the business up by diversifying my portfolio by signing labels and international artist.
