My name is Trust Tate, and I’m a Hip-Hop Recording Artist, Music Producer, Audio Engineer, and Gun Violence Survivor From New Jersey. I’ve been featured in The Source, HipHopWeekly, The Hype Magazine, One West Magazine, This Is 50, & Hip Hop Since 87. I have been rapping for 8 years, and I’ve been making beats for the last 8 months. I am also a BeatStars Influencer, helping producers make money doing what they love. I grew up immersed in Hip-Hop culture, and I understand how powerful rap music is in shaping the American landscape.
There is a strong prevalence of sex, drugs, and violence in the music, and the media that popular society loves to party, and be entertained by. The byproduct of their amusement is the increasing harm being done to Black & Spanish communities. Knowing all of this, and being a gun violence victim myself, I try to have a positive impact on the youth as a music artist.
I started my music career recording in the dorm rooms of Rutgers University eight years ago.Two years later I was signed to T.O.G. Music Group, an independent record label that helped me take my music to another level. With their help I was able to record in World-Class studios, perform on some of the biggest stages on the east coast, and meet some of the people that had a hand in building Hip-Hop & RnB as we know it. Post contract, I partnered up with producer Saint Alexvnder, and engineer Prince The Legend to start my independent journey. Through them I was motivated to learn how to produce, and engineer.
I started studying music production on Youtube on BusyWorksBeats channel, and started studying music theory to get a stronger foundation. I have released 5 albums within the year of 2021, and will continue to find my place in the music world.
