Journalist – What is your name and what city do you rep?
My name is Marc Mclean, I was born and raised in Jamaica, but I currently live in New Jersey.

Journalist -Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?
I just released my first single “Lonely”, it’s based on a thought a had during a rough time with my lady. Basically telling myself to “Get my sh*t together”.
Journalist – What is unique about you and your music?
The music I create is a compilation of all the sounds I’ve absorbed to date. From the sounds of Reggae and Danchall that I was raised on, to the sounds I heard later in life from Jazz to Hiphop.

Journalist – When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
I have been preforming professionally for the last six years in a cover band. On larger stages (stadiums,large halls etc..) hearing the roar of welcome and appreciation for my artistry, I was hooked.

Journalist – What type of music do you listen to?
I know everyone says this but, I truly make a conscious effort to listen to everything. Currently however, I’ve been listening to a lot of Anderson Paak(including the silk sonic releases), Bj the Chicago kid, Baby Rose, Louis and the Yakuza and Chris Stapleton.

Journalist – What inspires you to write music?
Well in my eyes I have no choice. Writing as a whole is a means by which I process life. When things are over whelming,when they’re underwhelming, I’m happy or overly stressed.

Journalist – What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
I am a father to a beautiful 3yr old daughter. So when I’m not a t work or creating I am taking care of her.

Journalist – What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?
Don’t let the fun die. With all the information we have a access to these days it’s easy to forget that this is what brings you joy. It almost seems like you get sucked into the “work” it takes to be an artist. None of the stars we know and loved started where we saw them, it took time to get good at what brought them joy and it will for you as well.
