Don Billion’s latest single “For My Flowers” is an anthem for the underrepresented
Don Billion is an Atlanta artist who’s next move can’t be predicted. He has a knack for rapping over trap beats and holding dynamic notes over melodic instrumentals, such as his latest single “For My Flowers“. This record is an afro fusion delight and does not disappoint in continuing his path of unique spontaneity. In a recent sit down with (hip hop since 1987) Don Billion discussed his single and how it relates to the current headlines about Nigeria banning white models from being represented.
Don Billion clearly stated that the ban “should’ve happened” and carried on this dialogue by mentioning that females and males of color have been underrepresented in mass media for far too long. He continued by explaining that black culture has contributed extensively to society and has not in his words “received their flowers for it“. Don billion stated that though he agrees with Nigeria and believes more people of color should be presented in the media his song expresses the love of diversity.
His newest record “For My Flowers” is a record for people of all races and cultures. “Everywhere you go in this world there are people that are giving there all who are not being appreciated and recognized” Don Billion States “where ever they may be For My Flowers is their anthem“.
